As water temps cool, walleye migrate westward again, pausing off Lorain to bulk up on shad for the winter. They move closer to shore, often found in 20–30 feet of water. This is a golden window for nearshore trolling with large crankbaits such as Bandits, Smithwick P10s, and Rapala Husky Jerks. Fall is certainly the time to boat your personal best and experience incredible night fishing.
